Keenan had his one year well baby check up on Sept 7; Dylan came to the appointment with us. I decided to have the blood work done with Keenan that I decided against with Dylan. I thought since we just bought a home that was dated back to the 50's that the lead test was a good idea. As we were in the lab Dylan informed the nurses that they better not hurt his baby brother. I didn't realize how bad this was really going to be. I had to lay on KBug's left arm and place my leg on his legs pinning him down (which made him mad instantly) while the nurses began to draw blood. Of course KBug started freaking out. Dylan was in back of us sitting on a chair. The next thing I hear "ALRIGHT I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!" shouted Dylan. I turned around and he was standing up on the chair and he was angry. I had to smile. It was that sweet sibling moment of togetherness. Then we made our way to the doctors office. Dylan was just fine in the office until the two nurses came in the room together at the end of the appointment, shot time. Dylan looked at the two nurses and said "I'm watching you and you better not hurt him."

I Will Show Her All My Moves
Dylan and I were talking about LOVE. I told him that Mommy loves him more than anything in the whole world and the love Mommy has for him and Keenan is greater than all. He said he thinks that his wife will love him more or as much as I do. I agreed that his wife could maybe love him as much as I do but it is also a different kind of love and that sometimes a girlfriend/wife and boyfriend/husband can fall out of love with each other, and that would never happen with him and Mommy. He said "I will never let my wife fall out of love with me. We will love each other forever. I will show her all my moves." I just cant believe some of the things that come out of my little mans mouth. I laughed of course and said I don't doubt that one bit honey. You are and will be a great person forever and I am sure the girl that you meet is going to be almost as wonderful as you are. He smiled and drifted off as if he was dreaming about his future. Gosh I love this kid so much. Everyday is a new adventure with Dylan and you never know what he will surprise you with next.

Did He Check Your Blood Pressure
Yesterday while waiting in the check out line at Toys R Us Dylan struck up a conversation with the woman in back of us.(Imagine that) She was wearing a wrist brace so of course Dylan was inquiring. He asked what happened. She said that she fell. Of course he wanted to know where. She was giving him the details and told him that she had to go to the doctor. Dylan than asked did he check your blood pressure. Of course not knowing Dylan this woman was surprised by the question from such a young boy and chuckled answering why yes...yes he did. Dylan kind of tilted his head side ways, a gesture of concern." And how was it?" This blew her away I think. Answered with a laugh that it was good and began to ask my mom and I questions about Dylan; age being the first. She said well this is definitely going on my facebook tonight.
Do You Pick Your Own Wife?
Dylan asked Grandma Jean if people picked their own wife. Grandma asked what do you mean? He said he was wondering if he was able to pick his own wife. Grandma Jean began to explain the dating process and that if he found someone that he really liked that he could than ask her to marry him and have children if that is what he wanted. His faced proved he was satisfied with the response and he replied "Oh good, because I really like Brylee."

A Bite In My Sandal
There is a notch out of one of my sandals because I have wore them out. Dylan asked me what it was from. I told him that crocodile bit if off. He asked what crocodile and where? I told him it is was the one in the pond at the fair. He thought about it for awhile and replied "If a crocodile did it the bite would be more square; I think it was a squirrel or a chipmunk." I swear he has a answer for everything. He is a thinker.

Dragon Tales & The Gov't Shutdown
Dylan and Grandma Jean were playing with his toy dragons & dinosaurs. He has this two headed dragon and Grandma told him that she had never seen a two headed dragon before. "Yes you have Grandma, in the cartoon Dragon Tales, remember Zak and Weezy." Dylan said. "Oh that is right. Grandma replied. "I wondered why they took that cartoon off the air?"Grandma asked. "I think it was because of the Government shutdown." Dylan replied.

First Time On A WaterSlide
I asked Dylan if he wanted to go down the waterslide when we got to the St. Ansgar pool. He said no, but 20 min later he came up to me and told me he wanted to go down the slide now. I took him to the top and returned to the bottom for a picture. He loved it and went a couple other times, before he ended up sideways coming down the last stretch. I am sure he will be back on the waterslide the next time we go. My little guy is getting so brave....and trying lots of new things

Heart-shaped Fireworks
Heath and the kids went to the fireworks with Grandma Jean and Grandpa David on the 4th of July, Mommy was at work. We took the kids the night before. Of course the 4th puts on a way better show. During the fireworks one of the ones shot up into the air was heart-shaped. Dylan looked over at Grandma and said “Grandma, I think they seen me and you and they made a that." Isn't he the sweetest kid ever!
Are You Going To Race Them?
Dylan, Keenan and I were at a stop light in our new vehicle, which Dylan absolutely loves. A car full of younger boys pulls up to us and started revving up the engine. Dylan asks what they were doing? "I think they want to race your Mommy." I said. "Are you going to race them?" Dylan asked. "Welllll yeahhh." I replied. Of course I don't even have to say who won......I have racing running thru my veins...LOL! I should mention that I did not exceed 35-40 mph. Dylan was laughing so hard in the back seat "Silly silly guy, trying to race YOU in a car like THIS." Dylan said with such seriousness. I couldn't stop laughing.

4th of July Weekend
Dylan had such a good time at family fun @ the park. This year he did everything, well except the rock climbing because "No way, that is too DANGEROUS" I was so impressed with him. The big blow up slide I wasn't sure he would go on and he did. Then we came to the National Guard obstacle course, which looked a little "big" for Dylan, but he wanted to do it and he did awesome. It was so fun watching him have so much fun. He went up and down the obstacle course several, several times, and he even got to race mommy once; and win! He was a good sport and went in the smaller kids blow up castle with KBug and even went on the train with his little brother as well. Of course the favorite from last year, racing the mini go-karts. He is so funny to watch because he is really racing. Watching over his shoulder, trying to cut corners and even doing a little bumping. I think watching Dylan do this was the favorite for his Uncle David =)
All I have to say about the parade is candy, candy, and more candy!
Dylan was super excited to go watch the fireworks he said to me "Mom if I fall asleep for a little bit you have to wake me up to go to the fireworks, promise." He really enjoyed running up and down the hill before they started. And of course he loved the fireworks.....covered his ears during the finale, but had a smile on his face all the while. When we got home he said lets light off the rest of our fireworks but quickly decided that bed sounded better.

Fashion No, No
A couple weeks ago Dylan told me he wanted to wear his shirt unbuttoned because that is a fashion model yes, yes. Then he asked me if I wanted to know what a fashion model no, no is. Of course I was curious. He told me that is when you climb up trees when you have fashion clothes on.
Yesterday Heath slipped on his adidas sandals to go in the back yard with Dylan. A few minutes later Heath came in the house and told me that Dylan had just informed him that wearing socks and sandals is a fashion no, no. Heath was wondering where he is getting this from. I couldn't stop laughing. And hey....the kid is right.
