SANTA WAS HERE!

Christmas morning Dylan crawled into bed with me and Keenan.  I was wondering when he was going to ask about Santa.  It had been about 30 minutes of jabbering about his dreams when he needed to go to the bathroom.  As he walked by the balcony I heard him gasp "SANTA WAS HERE! SANTA WAS HERE!  MOM! LOOK!  LOOK!" he then turn to look outside, turns to me "Is it morning time yet?"  When I replied back yes he jumped up and shouted YIPPEE and ran downstairs.  "Daddy, Daddy Santa was here.  LOOK! LOOK! Those presents weren't there last night!"  Needless to say he was really excited. Dylan also noticed that the cookie and CHOCOLATE milk that he set out for Santa was gone.  As Dylan was opening his stocking full of goodies (The King from Cars, 2 matchbox cars, safety scissors, Pet Pals leapster game, a big brother Christmas ornament, and some candy) he said "Woe Santa is really cool."  Then he got to his Santa present.  He was so excited.  Santa got him exactly what he asked for.  "THE BAT CAVE! Look its the bat cave." Dylan said with a big smile.  Of course he wanted to play with it right away but I did get him to open the rest of his presents with a twist of the arm. ;)

Measuring Cups

Grandma Jean was over to our place trying to make Dylan oatmeal.  She was looking through the cupboards for measuring cups and couldn't seem to find any.  She decided to ask Dylan if his mom had any measuring cups or if he knew where they were at.  Right away Dylan said mommy did and that he knew where they were and took off for his bedroom.  Grandma Jean sat there waiting for Dylan to come downstairs with the measuring cups when here walks Dylan in the kitchen holding his grow chart.  Apparently all Dylan heard was measuring.  Grandma couldn't stop laughing.  Right idea Buddy

Grammar Lesson

Last night Dylan, Keenan & I were all laying in bed.  Keenan was being a little stinker so I picked him up while saying little baby you need to go to sleep.
Which baby? Dylan asked
Both. I replied back.
Dylan proceeded to inform me if I was talking to both of them I should of said little babies instead of baby.  Or I could have said You two need to go to sleep.
I couldn't believe I was sitting in my bed past my children's bedtime getting a grammar lesson by my 3 1/2 yr old.  He is such a character.

"Well I'm not trying burgers!" He replied.

Amanda Lynn: I am coming to visit
Dylan: (very excited ) We can play with all my toys!
Amanda Lynn: Are you going to dress up for me.
Dylan: (scrunched up his nose looked down at his clothes) Nah I will probably wear what I normally do.
Dylan: Are you going to wear a dress?
Amanda Lynn: Yes
Dylan: (Big ol'smile) I LIKE DRESSES!

Dylan was telling Grandma Jean all about Amanda Lynn and that she was coming over to play with him when Mommy gets home from work.
Grandma: Are you going to marry Amanda Lynn
Dylan: No
Grandma: That's ok you should just have fun and be friends with a lot of girls until you find the right one.
Dylan: I already found the right one..........MOMMY!  I am going to be with her forever. =)

On Halloween we started out trick or treating at St Marks where Dylan scored the candy...holy moly.

Then we went to the parade in Mapleview to scare the ghouls and gobblins out of town. Then off to Rose Creek where Dylan helped his Grandma and Grandpa hand out their candy. Depending on the costume decided whether Dylan handed out the candy or Grandpa.

Floods! Floods! Floods!

As Dylan was enjoying some light reading ;) he came across a picture that struck his interest. "Floods, floods, floods. The whole town of Austin is flooded." he said as he shook his head back and fourth.
"Oh my gosh the Austin Utilites!" Dylan exclaimed. "Where?" I asked. Dylan pointed at the utility plant. "How do you know that is the utility plant?" I asked. "Because of the smoke stacks; unless that is the pig factory?" Dylan replied.

I just can't believe him sometimes =)

Funny's Over The Past Crazy Few Weeks

Little brother. Little brother. Do you know how smart I am?

Dylan told me babies are nocturnal

Dylan told Grandpa & Grandma W that they should have brought his pillow pet bunny to see his baby brother.

Dylan has a stuffed monkey he got on Valentine's Day that he calls Lovey Dovey. One day Grandma Jean and Dylan were upstairs in his room & Dylan said "Lovey Dovey I have a baby brother downstairs. You want to come see?"

Dylan told Grandma Jean that Grandpa started the stock car up and it scared the hell out of him.

Dylan told me he was losing weight because he hasn't been doing his weights. He then said I better start doing my push ups again.

Daddy takes care of Mommy. Mommy takes care of me. And I take care of Keenan.

Dylan kisses Keenan at bedtime and says "Goodnight my little Angel"

Dylan told Grandma Jean one day when she got to our place "My Mommy and baby brother were fighting about milk"

The first time Dylan saw me in the hospital after the birth of Keenan he hugged me real tight and said "Mommy I am so glad you are back to normal!"
Then the day I got home from the hospital he saw me in a tight shirt and said "Mommy you are still pregnant....is that my baby sister?"

While visiting me at the hospital he told my nurses "I will see you next year when my mommy has my baby sister."

My Mommy Does All Those Things

Grandma Jean & Dylan were on their way to the nursing home when they came to a stop light that was turning yellow. A cop sitting at the other light made the decision for Grandma to stop suddenly. Dylan asked her why she stopped so fast. She replied beacuse I didn't want to get a ticket from that cop. Dylan wanted to know if the cop was out looking for bad people. Grandma said the cop was probably watching for people who were speeding, going through red lights or stop signs. Dylan's reply was "My Mommy does all of those things."

Later Dylan told Grandma Jean he was going to be a cop when he gets older; he then looked at her and said "You know they're not bad people."

Best Big Brother EVER

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero.
Dylan loves his baby brother so much. He is constantly kissing and hugging him. He is such a good helper as well. When Keenan is crying, usually due to wanting to eat and wanting it NOW; Dylan will run to him and start talking to him & Keenan will stop crying & stare at his big brother. It is adorable to watch as this special bond grows.

What Time Do You Get Done With Work?

Monday evening around 6:30 Dylan and I were driving home from Grandma Jean's and Grandpa David's.  Dylan asked me what time I get done with work.  I told him 4 o'clock.  He than asked what time does Grandma get home.  I said 3 o'clock.  Finally he asked and what time does Daddy get home.  I said well Daddy isn't home yet but he should be home shortly.  I didn't think much about our conversation until the next morning on my way to drop Dylan off.  "I want Daddy to pick me up today." Dylan says.  "You do?" I replied.  "Yes call Daddy and tell him to pick me up when he gets done."  After I thought about it for awhile I had to laugh.  He had this all figured out from yesterdays conversation.  He wants more time with Grandma and now he knows a way to get it.  What a smart little turkey.

It's My Brains Fault

I was trying to tell Dylan to stop doing something.  He said "Sorry, my brain won't let me."  I replied "Sorry my hand is going to spank you."  He said "Spank my brain?"  I said "No spank your butt."  He replied back "You should really spank my brain. Its my brains fault."
