Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

I got home from work at 10pm on Christmas Eve and Dylan welcomed me at the door with his beautiful grin.  "You knew I would still be up didn't you Mommy?"  I told him yes but the sooner he goes to sleep the sooner morning will arrive and that Santa Claus comes tonight (continued with me singing Santa Claus is Coming To Town) "You are so silly Mommy" But seeing the excitement in his eyes are some the moments that make my life beautiful. While we were waiting for 6 news to verify Santa's location Dylan had to pour Santa his milk and get him some cookies.  When I saw 4 cookies on the plate I told him that Santa might be upset he has 4 cookies because he has to eat cookies at every house.  "Well that is on dad, he is the one who got them for me." Dylan replied with such seriousness.  What a character.  I tucked him into bed and soon he was sound asleep.  That morning KBug was the first one awake.  He even knew something exciting was happening today. I usually shut Dylan's door so KBug can't bang on Dylan's head but since it was already after 9am  I didn't stop Keenan from going in Dylan's room but told him not to touch him.  A few seconds later I hear this loud noise coming from Dylan's room.  Keenan was standing in the middle of Dylan's room with his maracas going crazy.  Dylan was awake before I even got in there.  I think he was about to make his normal scowl when he realized "CHRISTMAS."   So he jumped up and ran to the living room.  Sure enough Santa came last night.  So the 3 of us headed downstairs to attack the Daddy monster.  Keenan was the first attacker.  Dylan soon jumped in and before they new it Daddy was awake.  Needless to say Dylan was very happy that it was Christmas and he could finally play his 3DS that Santa was bringing him.  Christmas Eve when I told Dylan it wouldn't be long before he got to see what Santa was bringing him.  He told me he knew what he was getting because he only asked for 1 thing, and he was a really good boy.  Santa did surprise him with a steering wheel for the DS, some fun stocking stuffers and a BATMAN ornament, which Dylan thought was soooo cool.

Visit With Santa

Dylan told Santa that he wants a Nintendo DS.  Of course he got stamped for the good boy list because he has been a very good boy again this year.   I am pretty sure Santa will pull thru.  We are very lucky as parents and I guess we must be doing something right, along with the wonderful help we get from Grandma's & Grandpa's.  I asked Dylan what KBug wanted and right away he replied "A Dylan doll!"  Hmmmm.  Dylan said Keenan doesn't always get to sleep with him because he(Dylan) sleeps in his own bed most of the time so Keenan probably misses him and needs a Dylan doll.  Also Keenan would have the doll to play with when Dylan is at school.  I asked him if there was a Dylan doll on the market.  He right away replied  "No but Santa's elves can make one, they know what I look like."

Rome

Me: Honey I don't think I can do it either.
Dylan: Just try
Me: I don't think I can.
Dylan: Rome wasn't built in a day Mommy.
Me: Ohhhh you just get out of here. =)
I really don't know where he comes up with these things, but I have a feeling he heard that one from Grandpa David.  He picks up on everything.  My little smarty pants.

He Knows Marketing

On thanksgiving Dylan was telling Uncle Dee that he was going to be a dentist when he grows up.  He said I am going to fix your teeth because I know that you have cavities.  He assured him not to worry because he was going to give him and Stephanie the family discount.  Probably $2 dollars.  But because of their discount he would have to up the charges for everyone else to make up for it.
WOW~!  He already knows marketing.

The Band-it

As the boys and I were driving we saw a car that had gotten pulled over and the car was getting towed.  I mentioned that they must have done something really bad to get their car towed.  Dylan said probably robbed a bank.  I stated that I didn't think they robbed a bank, but maybe I guess.  "I am never going to be a band-it.  Never ever."  Dylan said.  "Keener Beaner probably will be though."

2nd Year Preschool Conference

Dylan highly exceeds the teachers expectations.  She told me that Dylan was one of her smartest students, if not the smartest.  She said that is vocabulary is amazing.  Some of the words he uses, she just can't believe.  Mrs Julie sometimes has to tell Dylan to let the other kids answer some of the questions  (he is one of those kids) lol!   He does have a problem keeping still and getting on track.  Dylan and his buddy Alex have to be separated because they feed off of each other. When other kids are finishing up their projects my Dylan is just starting his.  She said it is hard to get stern with him because he is so lovable.  Yep we already new he was a charmer =)  All and all he is a treat to have in the class and very very smart!

Farmer John's

I Am Old Enough To Say Shoot, Right?

The other night Dylan ran past me and than turned around because he forgot something.  As he turned around he said "SHOOT!" Right after he said shoot he turned and looked at me with this funny, kind of of worried look.  "I am old enough to say shoot, right mom?"  I replied yes I think you can say shoot.  He than said "And dang it.  I can say shoot and dang it, right.  Because I am almost five.  Right."    This kid of mine cracks me up.

He Uses Analogies

"Sometimes I'm faster than a comet, and sometimes I'm slower than a turtle.  That's just the way it is Mom."

I Spy With My Little Eye

Dylan and I were playing I Spy With My Little Eye last night at home.  Heath was laying on the couch watching football and KBug was moving from person to person giggling.   Dylan:  "I spy with my little eye a grumpy old man."  Of course I busted out laughing as I was looking over to the couch and said "I spotted it"  It took Daddy a minute to realize that he was the grumpy old man.   A while longer into the game.  Dylan:  "I spy with my little eye a beautiful Mommy."   I said "WHERE"  Dylan started giggling and said "YOU Mommy"  and gave me a big smoochie woochie kins.  I have to say I really enjoy this game.

First Day -2nd Yr Preschool

Ready for his first day back

First time riding the bus (AMCAT)

Getting his name tag

Picked out his seat and ready to go

Bye Mom, Bye Keenan! Big smiles

Getting off the bus at the YMCA

The cool CaptainAmerica backpack he picked out

Dylan was super excited to go back to school. He really thought riding a bus (AMCAT) was going to be fun. He loves both.
He picked out his new packback (Captain America) which he is really into superheroes right now; notice the shirt as well. He is so grown up, and still a well behaved wonderful, FUNNY little/big boy. I wish I could bottle him up.
